We are seeking a skilled SQL Server DBA with expertise in ETL processes to manage and maintain our Microsoft SQL Server databases hosted on Azure. This role involves ensuring database availability, performance, security, and recovery, along with designing and optimizing ETL workflows. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in database administration, ETL development, performance tuning, and troubleshooting within an Azure environment.

Responsibilities:

• Database Administration:
• Administer, maintain, and optimize SQL Server databases on Azure.
• Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required.
• Ensure database security, integrity, stability, and system availability.
• Develop and manage backup and disaster recovery plans and procedures.
• Provide on-call support for critical database issues and emergencies.
• ETL Development and Management:
• Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into SQL Server.
• Ensure ETL processes are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Collaborate with data analysts and developers to integrate ETL processes with data analytics platforms and applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve ETL process issues, ensuring data accuracy and consistency.
• Collaboration and Optimization:
• Work closely with the IT team to integrate databases with other applications.
• Collaborate with developers on database design and optimization.
• Manage indexes, index management, and statistics to ensure efficient database operation.
• Proficiently write and optimize SQL statements and stored procedures.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a SQL Server DBA, specifically in an Azure-hosted environment.
• Strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database services.
• Experience with database administration, backup, restores, and recovery models.
• Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for SQL Server.
• Extensive experience in designing and managing ETL processes.
• Proficiency in ETL tools and platforms such as SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services), Azure Data Factory, or similar.
• Ability to manage indexes, index management, and statistics.
• Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements and stored procedures.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills:

• Certification in Microsoft SQL Server or Azure SQL is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and scripting languages such as PowerShell.
• Experience with data warehousing concepts and tools.

Location: Remote (Must be available to work 9 AM - 5 PM EST)
